Is financial freedom a good price to pay for a society with the equal distribution of wealth? We all know that communism doesn't work, neither does capitalism. Communism takes away people's unalienable rights as human beings too much and capitalism has little restrictions on the distribution of wealth. I value freedom in everything with the exception of the free market. mzz p: I agree. Capitalism just makes people empty and sad as it drives people to want more and more through peer pressure. Most people my age want cars and shit. I got low expectations however I'm in a financial mess. Capitalism rewards peer pressure. Well what if you're not a goal setter?
Suggestions to reach financial freedom using the fastest and/or easiest route in my circumstance.? Financial freedom to me is not having to work while living a comfortable life. As of now, the breakdown of achieving this is amassing $3-5 million and living off the interest running at ~5% Age: Early 20s and in college. Earnings: Just started working but put all of my paychecks in savings getting around ~5% interest. Continuing this and not factoring in interest, I'll earn around $10k/yr Misc. Info: I have no financial obligations such as food, bills, insurance etc. as of now. However, I'm planning to attend medical school within the next 3 years which will probably put me back $100-200k Please include with your suggestions and est. time. Thank you.

Why is it so scary for poor people to take risks when it comes to financial freedom? I know there's bills you have to pay but it isn't that big of a risk. If you're barely making it in life and you're barely paying your rent which is scary, you don't want to be homeless. However, if you're living like you're walking a tight rope with being homeless and paying your rent on time should this tell some poor people. Hey, I need to step my game up so I can acquire more income so I won't have to live like I'm walking on a thin line barely making it in life and paying my bills. This is not a comfort zone it's more of a pressure zone if anything.
Any Ideas for a Catchy Phrase for a Financial Freedom Website? I am the webmaster of a financial freedom and personal finance website. The URL is: http://www.financialfreedomtrail.com I am trying to craft a theme phrase that will be memorable and paint a mental picture so people will easily remember to be financially responsible. The main theme is: "You must spend less than you earn." The problem is that it's boring, and people have trouble living by this essential principle. So far I only have: "Not managing your money wisely is like forgetting to check you fly when you come out of the men's room" As you can see, I need something better. Maybe something like, "Spending more than you earn is like........." Please help me finish the sentence. Thanks

Do you know how much it costs for "Financial Freedom" today?? Do you know how much you would need to earn in order to be considered "financially freed"(not have to worry about money) in today's world ?? An articles i read off a financial magazine, the editor who works in merril lynch suggest the amount for an individual to be considered to have attained "financial freedom" in today's world equates to: ***5 million USD*** !!! Yes, that's USD 5 million !! That's how much you need to be considered financially freed in today's world ?! I guess the the goal 'financial freedom', where everyone's working so hard to attain is somewhere rather out of reach.....by the time you get it you're already really old. What 's your comment on this ?

Baby or financial freedom? My husband and I are working very hard to get out of debt. We only have school loans and a home loan. We pay off our credit card every month and pay extra towards the college loans. I would like to try for a baby. I have recently been diagnosed with an issue that may mean I am infertile. So I would like to try now just to try naturally first. My husband is thinking about it and he wants kids, but I think he is afraid of not having all of our financial ducks in a row, while I am afraid that waiting may mean no baby. So what should we do? I am just asking for your opinion I will definatley talk more indepth to my husband. Thanks so much
Do you think that financial freedom and time freedom? Do you believe you have a plan to get this in your life It's a fact that the typical employee works more hours than they did 10 years ago. Commuting time has exponentially increased and most families have two parents working full time. Plus, taxes are just rising and cost of living (incl gas!) are skyrocketing. Government stats show that the average american family owes $8000 on credit card and living on more than they can afford. Savings are actually negative which means people are withdrawing some of their savings. We buy most of our products & services on some form of credit arrangements. The end results: Most families are stuck in the Rat Race living paycheck to paycheck (paying the bills), one cheque from bankrupcy... This is the reality out there. Is the American dream a myth? Is there such thing as Freedom in that context? It appears that our economic model is deeply in trouble. Lay offs are constantly happening...Job security is obsolete. There is no more such thing as working 25 yrs for the same company to leave golden age..

If I follow Jesus, will I have a financial freedom like some preachers preach? look at verse 5 1 timothy 6 = 3If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. 6But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 11But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you 14to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen. 17Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
