If I follow Jesus, will I have a financial freedom like some preachers preach?
look at verse 5 1 timothy 6 = 3If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. 6But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 11But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you 14to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen. 17Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

- Thats 100% percent bullshit because alot of poor people beleive in god
- Firstly, I would tell you to stop giving those preachers your money. Be charitable, but don't give it to "Money-Changers">......
- Sounds like bribery to me...hmmm
- Shur you will,,,,, if not be like them pass the plate one more time.
- Preachers have financial freedom because they abuse their religion to get money from people.
- I don't remember where in the bible this is... ...God helps those who help themselves.... and ...Do not put your God to the test.... While it's true that many poor people believe in God, you can't simply believe in him and then expect that you have money pour out of your pockets whenever you need it. Help yourself. Do whatever you can do get a better education, even if it's just additional on-the-job training. Raises and promotions usually go to the best trained, so do what you can to help yourself. Also, isn't it ironic.... Jesus preached to us that we shouldn't be materialistic, yet all these preachers on TV are swimming in money and quite materialistic.
- Um, no You´ll have the freedom to order your money as you like but it doesn't get you any extra cash. Who told you that?
- I am not going to read this stuff... but I do recall that 11 of the 12 apostles were martyred... and many people die for the cause of Christ. It is time to stop listening to the prosperity gospel and face the facts that we are in a war with Satan to overtake the principalities of the world. Christianity is a messy business. People will die for the honor of being a Christian. Money is just a tool. The more one has.. the more accountability will be required.
- do not believe that, you will not have financial freedom unless you work and save your money.
- I guess that depends on how much you coose to give to the church each week...
- Only the preaches get financial freedom by shaming you into giving them large donations, while they return lies and idiotic mumblings.
- Only If you believe in a faith and not the preacher. You will notice a difference in your life. Just don't sway from your personal beliefs, avoid giving any money if you can't afford it. God Bless
- The bible says, and I paraphrase this," If you abide in Me (Jesus), and My Word abides in you, ask what you will, it shall be done unto you". Basically to me, this means that you walk the walk....don't talk the talk. Live and breathe Jesus. Alot of these tele-evangelists are hippocrites.....in my opinion. f they're so blessed, they why do they beg for money so much? I don't want to lead you astray at all, but I do have problems with alot of these people. They make Christianity look stupid. If you want financial freedom, then live for God, involve God in all you do, and pray it in. I wish you the best.....
- There is a way... called faith, usually, but it's more complicated than just believing in something that isn't going to happen. Christianity, Buddism, Taoism, some pagan systems, etc all really say the same things about faith, but you have to dig to find these truths. (Christians used to call this "living in grace".) Most of the stuff you hear from churches just amounts to "give us your money", which is not enough of the puzzle. It also takes time to change your situation, and most people are not patient. Also, money is only part of it, in fact, it's the least part of it. You also should not be focused on the money at all. If you get it and it means anything to you, it will probably hurt you more than help you. So like I said, it's really more than I can explain here and there seem to be lots of ignorant sheep and angry monkeys here to just bash the whole idea so, hey, keep buyin' lottery tickets and have a nice day! ;o)
- The answer to your question depends on how YOU define "financial freedom".
- Most preachers preach that in the wrong way. Those that emphasize that, really want you to pay more to them. They tell you "the more you give to the church, the better off you'll be." You can't give to the church when it's going directly to the preacher. Those preachers are greedy hippocrites. There are some churches out there that don't pay the preacher, such as the mormon church, in which they give the correct principle of financial freedom. If it's a good and righteous church though, giving tithing (10% of your earnings) helps in becoming financially free. In order to gain financial freedom, you must remember two things. Live below your means and pay yourself first. It is also true that if you give charity, your money somehow becomes more abundant. So if you want financial freedom, do those three things and you will be blessed with not pure wealth, but with less stress of finding the money to pay your bills.
- You should read the book titled "The Purpose Driven Life". It's so great. First off, if you follow Jesus, you will be blessed with so much more than just finances. Do not listen to anyone's answers if they are not speaking something God would have told you. God is awesome! He will not lead you astray. We are not at a war with Satan. Satan's battle was lost many many many years ago. He is powerless. The only thing he can do is tempt. It's our choice whether we do right or wrong. May you find peace and love through God's many blessings and mercies! God will bless you if you follow him.
- See that's where people fall when they put money first instead of God, when you put all your trust in Him, everything else in your life will fall in line. I am going to say though that some people do abuse their positions as preachers and they concentrate on the physical (money) instead of the spiritual part of life because that's what God called them to do in the first place. Giving money to church is what God commands us to do in His word, it goes to help the building (church), the community, the church staff and also missions. God says "to give and it shall be given unto you, full measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over", so whatever you do, do it as though you're doing it for the Lord and not just as a job or obligation but as though to please God, then will you truly have freedom in anything, whether it be finances, health or whatever you maybe struggling with. Didn't mean to preach at you but just wanted to say that because there too many misunderstandings towards Christians and God.
- I'll tell you right up front that if that's who you choose to follow, they will definitely free you from your finances. Jesus taught us that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. If the "ministry" is about money, it's not about Jesus.
- No that's false teaching and it sad so many push it.What ever happened to preaching about seeking your treasure in heaven?I hate to think how many people have fallen away from the faith because of false doctrine like that
