What are the rights and obligations of Canadians for offshore internet investing?

I am interested in opening an account with Minvestment and p-2-p internet investing sites. I want to know 1. if this is legal for a Canadian citizen 2. what my obligations are (rules to follow) regarding income tax once I want to withdraw my profits.
