How would I find out if my upper management staffing is scimming money from where I work?

I work with the elderly and fear that some of the money that is suppose to go for the home is disappearing.

1. Get someone to audit the books.
2. Why do you "fear?" Are their strong indications that money is disappearing, or is this a flight of fancy? (sincere question, not being a smart a$$). What do you base your fears upon? Do you know what kind of monies come into the home? Do you know what kind of expenses are incurred by the home? Without a lot of knowledge, you are in no position to cast rumors. Be very careful of what you are doing, for if unfounded, you will find yourself fired. IF you have very real knowledge of fraud, then go to the states attorney for your county and explain what is going on, what you know is missing, and why. That is all you can do. But, again, be very careful. Audits are expensive, and if no irregularities are found, you will be the only "irregular" in the bunch.
