does anyone wish they had the financial freedom to have more children?

I'm planning on having two children mainly because i feel that if i had any more i wouldn't be able to provide for them, and i also don't want my boy to be an only child. but in an ideal world i would love to have more children. am i the only one who thinks that financial and social pressures have an adverse affect on their descision to have children?

1. no you're not the only one! billions of people feel the same way i bet. that's partly why China has that "one baby only" rule. (we should be grateful that we CAN have children, let alone more than one) i want more. I really do. and sometimes I'm so sad I cry about it. but then, ya can't have it all, ya know?

3. yes they do, for lots of parents. Meanwhile lots of skint parents have kids through a mixture of accidents and intention, and somehow they get by. It's amazing but somehow it happens - parents are more resourceful than they ever were before they became parents. Especially the mums (facing facts here - it's the mums that make it work mostly). There's never a perfect time or a perfect set of circumstances to have kids. So you gotta make your mind up one day that you're just gonna go for it, and do that. You'll make it work.

5. You're NOT alone - I love kids and would love to have a house full of them - but reality sets in and money is the best reality slap there is... Some weeks I'm lucky to have five dollars in my checking account - and how fair is that to a kid? No college fund, no savings, no splurges???
6. Hun...I gave birth to five children (sadly lost one of my daughters) but the rewards far outweigh any potential financial burden you think you will have....kick off your shoes, make your plans and enjoy!
7. If we had unlimited money and could afford a bigger house and some help, I would definitely have a bigger family. I am happy with my 2 though. I think 2 or 3 is a good number.
8. No im lucky i have two children as it is. Some people cant have any at all.
9. I would love to have the financial freedom to have more children. But I would also at the same time ask for more patience, energy and the capacity to father more kids. I wish money was the only thing that is keeping me from having more kids, as I love my children dearly. But the reality is I dont think I could manage any more physically or mentally!!
10. My hubby and I decided to have just the one so that we could provide for him well, (but not spoil him), but now that we have our gorgeous boy, we can't help wanting more. They are a true gift. Yes, if we won the lottery, I'd have at least 2 more.
11. I feel the same way. Of course it would also help if I didn't have PCOS! But yeah, you feel as though you are working just to give your wage to a childminder who are doing the job you can do yourself for free. 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.
