Do you know how much it costs for "Financial Freedom" today??

Do you know how much you would need to earn in order to be considered "financially freed"(not have to worry about money) in today's world ?? An articles i read off a financial magazine, the editor who works in merril lynch suggest the amount for an individual to be considered to have attained "financial freedom" in today's world equates to: ***5 million USD*** !!! Yes, that's USD 5 million !! That's how much you need to be considered financially freed in today's world ?! I guess the the goal 'financial freedom', where everyone's working so hard to attain is somewhere rather out of reach.....by the time you get it you're already really old. What 's your comment on this ?

1. For us, financial freedom is my husband making enough to cover our monthly bills and put a little in savings. That makes me free to raise our baby. We buy used cars and shop at Sam's club, but we are happy and not tied down by a bunch of expensive things. It's freedom!
2. "Financial Freedom" is the point at which your passive income meets or exceeds your expenses. The question truly becomes more importantly;What is truly necessary as an expense, or how much can you reduce your pure expenses by. The $5M number in my opinion is rediculus, not because it is not true according to todays standards, but because of the influences, manipulations, and mindsets that make it true. It's ironic that I just published an e-book, that I am freely distributing, detailing the exact question.
