Do those debt elimination/wealth building programs for home computers really help with budgeting?

- Yes. I love Quicken. I started using it in 1996 when my wife and I had 80K in debt (CCs, car loans, and student loans). It was very reassuring to watch the total balance go down a little bit each month. After 8 years, we had them all paid off. Quicken won't help you pay your debts off any faster, but it's a great way to find out if you're really making progress.
- Budgeting programs (quicken, etc) can help you organize your finances. The programs that claim they will eliminate your debt or build you wealth if your purchase their program, no. You only have X amount coming in, the only way to build wealth or eliminate debt is to have money to pay extra on the debt or have extra to put into savings. What we have found to eliminate debt and eventually we will be able to build wealth is reading and following The Total Money Makeover by Ramsey. (Larry Burkett says about the same thing as Ramsey, he is just a little less blunt about it all.)
- Hi, I used "Credit Solution" to settle my debt and improve my credit score. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58% .It's legitimate.I came across this company on NBC News Special Edition.Check it out here: http://doiop.com/di10gd
- The answer to your question is kind of hard to say. Yes and No. All software is different, it really depends on the intent and the data collected. Even if you set the budget up, You still have to follow it. I know of a program that works really well, for debt elimination, wealth creation, through simple mortgage elimination, you can learn in 15 minutes, and their tracking software and budgeting tools are great.
